this bitch of a message can interrupt calls, come up without warning and make you flip. Its the phone design that is the cause, it does not hold the SIM card...

  1. If you already tried factory resetting by SD card... then there isn't much
you can do to the phone. The HTC mytouch 4g is known for having a bad eMMC
chip which HTC never resolved (or made aware to customers). If you had
purchased your phone a few years ago... you might be one of the unlucky
ones affected. People have reported their phones dying randomly.

  2. I guess it just turns on nd stays stuck at the screen i tried reseting it

  4. When you factory reset it... did the process complete?

  5. unfortunately, it's only a temporary fix. I wish there was a more permanent
fix. But for some reason... something got damaged internally in the phone.
I never fixed the phone myself, but ended up selling the phone. You have to
do the twist fix over and over to get the phone to work whenever you need
    to restart your phone...

  9. Yea.. sorry.. it does sound like it's fake. Glad your neices' phone can
still be used. When I had this phone.. I was at my wits end. I couldn't
figure out what was wrong (as I'd bought it off of ebay). I tried googling
and youtubing to figure out what the problem was.. and somehow... I read
someone twisting their phone. I thought it couldn't possibly hurt since my
phone was broken. Oh yeah.. just be careful you don't twist too hard... it
    can crack the screen.

  11. In the end, I purchased an external charger to charge my battery. An
external charger from ebay should cost you around 3-4 dollars. Also an
extra battery off of ebay might cost you about 2-3 dollars. I just charged
my battery externally and then inserting the charged battery, twisting my
phone, and having it boot normally. But if you don't want to get an
external charger, then you'll have to live with it rebooting when you
insert a usb cable.. and then twisting the phone to get it to boot.

  12. The behavior you describe happens just like what happened to my phone. 1)
Let's say the phone is on, and I plug the charger into it. It would restart
and get stuck in a boot loop. 2) Let's say I somehow got the phone charged
and it was plugged in.. when I finally removed the usb cable, it would
restart my phone, then get stuck in a boot loop. Unfortunately, for me,.. I
never had a good workaround for this. If I twisted the phone while
inserting the charging cable (VERY HARD) it might work.

  18. Yes i do know how to do the factory reset like when i would press the power
button it would freeze on factory reset i took it to t-mobile and they said
they couldn't do anything about it

  19. @ruready4563245 If u can't factory reset..... is the phone running a stock
or custom rom (ie cyanogenmod). You can try downloading the original
firmware to sd card and try reinstalling the stock rom that way. It doesnt
sound good though. i've read online how the internal storage or emmc chip
can go bad. If the phone is still under warranty then maybe u can try
    warrantying it. good luck

  20. For the record, it's not just HTC. I'm using galaxy S4 with exact same
problem. Samsung want to replace motherboard, I simply used tape to thicken
sim to make a better connection to the sim contacts. Been fine since. Thank
    you

  22. it worked! thanks a lot man. For the ones it didnt: try with more type and
    it will finally work!!

  23. Crossing my fingers and hoping I did this right and it works. I wasn't sure
whether I should wrap the tape around the card and tray or just put it on
top and trim the tape (which is what I did. I put on two layers of regular
cellophane tape (the invisible kind) and trimmed it up. It's working now.
We'll see how long it holds or if I may need more layers.

  24. Wooow! It worked for my HTC ONE V. I’m immensely grateful to you. ;))

  25. You deserve money for this fix!! I KNEW it was happening to lots of
different phone models for a reason - I thought it was Android but it's
crappy build quality!! Tape... hundreds of pounds, euros, dollars and the
answer to it all... is a little bit of tape. Jeez!!!

  34. I just tried this with my Desire HD (unbranded). I rebooted the phone as it
didn't immediately come back (could be due to my patchy reception in my
building so I went to a window as well) and I was back on my network - UK
T-Mobile. This is a great fix, good job for finding it inSUBout, real
good!!! :D. This should be on every Android FAQ page.

  35. You could also SLIGHTLY BEND the tray the SIM card sits in so it pushes the
SIM card towards the contacts. The keyword is SLIGHTLY!

    ОтветитьУдалить
  36. Thanks I tried the tape didn't work, but then put in and out of airplane
mode many times, pressed down hard on the Sim card, then rebooted quite a
few times and finally on one of the reboots it came good!!!! Just
persevere. I had done a system update which caused this problem. No Android
can outsmart a Human! ;) This phone has been fantastic much better than an
    iphone!
