Depending on the rom, the camera should already be fixed. Is been a while now since the Z rambuffer was tweaked for the camera, so they're shouldn't be any issues. This food was intended for stock ROM's. However it also shouldn't have done anything bad to your device. Reboots won't happen because of this fix
Go into system/apps and then select camer. Clear chache and force close. There will be another camera app a few underneath camera. Apk as well. So the same to that.
It didnt work. I installed it as you described on my rooted s4 and the camera still anonunce "warning camera failed"/ (the failure began after I rooted my phone ): )
you'll need to click 'save as' as the link is the direct zip file. So if you just click it, you will see all the scripts... Plus a new baseband and kernel source was released today... so there will be new drivers etc... good times!
what you can try is going into settings.. then 'more' then into 'application manager' swipe across to 'all' then find the application 'Camera' Once there click 'clear data' and 'clear cache' Should do the trick

Yes its a custom rom that was installed when I rooted the phone. And yes

I have only tested it on the i9500. you could try it on your device, but do
